Whee...

Camera fun. I ordered a LensBaby 3G yesterday, just in time for the spring bloomage; expect many vapid pictures of flowers in the near future.

My question is thus: is there such a thing as an adaptor to use 35mm Nikon lenses with a camcorder? I guess it's not that important, but I was curious.

In other news, I'm assembling a live Micronaut set with the constraint that it uses an extremely limited set of kit; just a MonoMachine, MachineDrum, and laptop. I have about 20 minutes worked out and practiced so far, with all new songs. I'm going to add a couple existing songs to the set (Minimist, Psychosis, and one other) and re-work them for that paradigm. I'll record the entire set when I have it done as one performance, and it will be available in the store accordingly.

And finally, this summer my cousin Michael is going to do a short (10 minute) movie of a solo CR performance, which will be available free when it is completed. We're going to shoot it in a ghost town in Central Oregon; it should be fairly cool, I would think. More on that as it becomes available.

EDIT: Never mind. I answered my own question. It is absolutely possible (and even desirable) to use 35mm lenses with a prosumer camcorder. How fun is that?

Sometimes it does snow in April. Go figure. The weather this year seems to be really fucked. I'll grant that I only have 3 years of experience with this joint at this point, but the first two were exactly alike, and everyone was like "oh, this is normal." Ever since January, we've had everything that could fall from the sky do so, in alternating cycles. It's very strange.

But looking out my window right now, the snow is coming down as if it was a Chicago blizzard. Luckily, it's 45 outside, so that won't last too long.

Or _a_ Micro thing, more to the point. I just uploaded a new 'Tube here, essentially a video of me inventing a song on the fly. I'm working out some tracks for potential Micronaut shows this summer, and this may be one of them.
I was merrily typing away for the last couple days, and I totally and completely forgot to post here that the new Atomica album, Greyscale, is now available for purchase in the Positron store. Go forth.

Sig...

If you're one of those sorts that likes to put sigs in your various forum profiles, I've got a good one for you. I'm not one of those sorts, so you don't have to worry about me using it. Here 'tis:

Eventually, I believe, everything evens out. Long ago, an asteroid hit our planet and killed our dinosaurs. But, in the future, maybe we’ll go to another planet and kill their dinosaurs.

Jack Handy, The New Yorker, 3/3/08

The depth of that quote gives me the giggles every time I read it. I just might have found my epitaph, I'll say that much. The column it's from is here.

The track "Minimist" from Callisto is on the digital compilation "45 - A Tribute To Daniel Hansson," which is available here. There are some fairly fly tracks on this collection, including some from people far more of a kind of famous than I am (including, of course, Autechre.) The comp is five bucks, and 100% of the proceeds go to the World Wildlife Fund, so go hook that shit up.

In other news, this is t3h awesome. It is, to the best of my knowledge, the oldest video taped performance of me on stage, done in 1991 in Dallas. I'm singing the backing vocals to Achtung w/ KMFDM. The first SMG show ever was taped as well, and I rue the day that shows up on YouTube, but until that heady event occurs, this is as old as it gets to the best of my knowledge. Thanks to TOKYO DEATH PLANE for the heads-up.

Sorry...

...for the lack of posting. It's been a hairy week thus far. We released an update to an Audio Damage product on Sunday that caused some consternation, and the rest of the week I've had my nose buried in Visual Studio 9 trying to get OpenGL to agree with my Grand Vision.

Ultimately, that task proved fruitless. I'm going to go back to making music now, which I'm much better at. Or at least much more consistently productive with.

Okay, I would write a blog post, but if I did, it would look like this:

Monday: Elle isn't feeling well. I have to work on Audio Damage stuff.

Tuesday: See Monday.

Wednesday: Mowed lawn. Otherwise see Monday.

Thursday: I'm not feeling good. Elle feels better.

Friday: We both feel fine. Worked all day.

So I didn't type anything. Somewhere in there I did manage to write most of a song, but I can't for the life of me recall doing it. It's been a week.

How anyone could possibly think this man wouldn't be a great fucking president is utterly beyond me. I wish in my wildest fantasies I had a picture from high school that looked this fucking cool.
